Babies. They are constantly on my mind. Other peoples. Mine are grown, and I am old enough to be a Grandma (stop it...shut up). But my extension of friends has grown so much that it seems like everyday I am reading about a new little joining a family, a new little growing, or a new little arriving.

I wish I had known about essential oils and toxins and a chemical free home when mine were growing up. I remember taking my babies on airplane trips and all my parent friends saying just give them Tylenol and Benadryl before the flight and it will knock them out and keep them out of pain...AND WE DID!!!!! Now I look back and am disgusted.

I could have done such a better job as a parent and kept my babies safe and away from all the toxins in my home...instead I went along with the marketing and bought the pretty smelling candles (that left black marks on the walls), the air fresheners that we sprayed and plugged in (IN THE BABY'S ROOM!!!!!) to cover the diaper smell, and the cute fluffy bear dryer sheets because those were the ones that would make the clothes extra soft (only to find out later that they are the worst things that can be in a home). I am mortified. Even my kids...now understanding toxins and chemicals and poisons...ask me why. At least I know they will be better parents.

As I now have lots of baby and shower gifts to buy, I am giving these moms the gift of health and wellness for their babes. Some ideas: - Calming essential oils (Gentle Baby, Lavender, Roman Chamomile)
- Nontoxic Cleaners (Thieves Household Cleaner)
- Room Sprays (Lavender, Citrus Fresh, Purification, Thieves)
- Essential oils for various baby/kid issues (KidScents Line)
- Hand Soap (Thieves Foaming Handsoap)
- Skin support ointments and lotions (AnimalScents Ointment and Lavender Hand Lotion)
- Wool Dryer Balls & Lavender
- The Gentle Baby book (full of SOOOOOOO many recipes and helpful tips)

Ultimately, our best gift is to educate our future parents and give them the resources and knowledge that we never had.
